A.R.K. Center feels that annual wellness exams regardless of age are crucial for keeping your pet healthy through the years. These routine examinations give us the opportunity to minimize your pet's potential health risks through early detection, screening, and treatment. We have incorporated semi-wellness exams into our vaccination schedules to ensure your pets get the attention, care, and protection they deserve.
What can I expect during my pet's annual visit?
* Comprehensive head to toe physical examination on your pet
* Fecal examination to screen your pet for intestinal parasites
* Heartworm antigen test using a small blood sample from your pet
* Otic examination to evaluate your pet's ears
* Oral examination to evaluate your pet's dental health
* Vaccinations are administered to your pet
* Client education is provided to you in nutrition, behavior, care, etc.
* Your questions and concerns as a pet owner are addressed
* Heartworm, flea and tick prevention is prescribed along with any other medications your pet may need
Annual wellness lab panels are recommended for all pets; especially those in their golden years as a senior pet’s age accelerates and their internal organ function could significantly change over the course of a year. There are also certain drugs that your pet may take which are metabolized by one of their organs therefore limiting its ability to function in a normal, healthy state.
